My thoughts on Changing Gender Roles when doing a remake for TV or a movie
The original Tv show had Starbuck as a male. The remake turned Starbuck into a female. What is up with that?

The original game was about a MAN who was searching for his daughter. The MAN was HARRY and the girl was CHERYL. Now the movie was about a WOMAN who was searching for her daughter. The WOMAN was ROSE and the girl was SHARRON. What is up with that?
The V series.
The original the alien leader was a male and now in the remake of the series the alien leader is a female. What is up with that?
The wicker man
The original had men and women on the island.
The remake had just women on the island.
The original had a man is the leader.
The remake had a woman as the leader.
I don't have anything against strong women roles, but when you remake a movie or tv show and there is a man in the original there should be a man in the remake. Same if it were a woman. My husband suggested I do this one.
I can't get into remakes of something that I enjoy if they are going to change the gender.
